A moment to Remember...

Remembering precious Damien today. One year ago today little Damien was he born still and instead of celebrating his 1st birthday we are mourning the life he never got to live. His mother and I were both due in August 2007 and her loss is always on my heart. It could have so easily been my own. I cannot imagine her pain.

A Lament for My Baby
I never got to hear you laugh
you never saw me cry
didnt get a chance to say "Hello"
you never said "Goodbye"
I didn't think that I could feel
so sad, lost and forlorn.
I never knew God chose his Angels
before some of them were born.
Your life was short yet special
I shared it all exclusively
I felt you breathe, I felt you kick.
You were alive inside of me.
Every baby is an Angel
and every angel is divine
God needed one in heaven
He came down and took mine
And although we are not together
we're not really apart
for you'll always occupy a space
deep within my heart.
Time has begun to ease my pain
It's only some days now I cry.
When I wish I could have said "Hello"
and heard you say "Goodbye"

Life

I know I am posting more pics than anything...life is just so busy. We are all doing well, very well in fact!

As you can see from the pics below, we spent 4th of July in PA for my cousins wedding. I went with my family and Ryan stayed home. The drives were very long. We left at 4:30am on Friday in hopes that Lily would sleep...but of course she woke up at 6am ready to play and sick of her carseat. My dad drove and I sat in the back trying to keep a 10 month old happy for an 8 hour car drive.

We spent Friday and Saturday at my aunts...Lily and I shared a hotel room with my Aunt and Uncle because otherwise we would have had to sleep on the floor and I knew Lily wouldn't sleep well that way. Trying to find a hotel room on the 4th of July didn't prove easy...but we finally found one...for $150 a night :(.

Saturday Lil and I spent most of the morning at the hotel because we didn't have a ride to my aunts. I watched "I love Lucy" re-runs and Lily slept. It was actually very relaxing.

The wedding was on Saturday at 3pm. It was beautiful. Lil didn't last through the first 5 minutes so my mom took her to the back of the church. Every once in awhile you could hear a very loud 'DADADADA" or squeal but she did okay. The reception didn't start until 6pm. It was nice but we were all so tired. We left around 9pm for Rochester as I had to work on Monday. Lil slept until 12:30am and then proceeded to scream for 2 hours. We stopped and tried to calm her but she just didn't want to be in her carseat and there was nothing we could do about that so we just kept going, all of us taking turns trying to get her back to sleep.

We were so cramped on the way home because there were 6 of us squished into my dads truck! But we finally got to Rochester around 4am.

Ryan left for Ohio on Wednesday for the deposition regarding the lawsuit against him from a car accident. Of course they called after he was 3 hours into the trip to tell him it had been cancelled but I was able to plead with them to at least get Ryan's part done even if the couple suing us wasn't there...so they did that.

Ryan said it was ridiculous...the questions made no sense:
'Did you drive a work vehicle earlier that day?"
"Do you have any children?"
"How old is she?"
"Who did you call imediately following the accident?"
"Did you call anyone else other than 911?"
"What was you cell phone number at the time of the accident?"
"Who was you cell phone provider at the time of the accident?"
"Who is you cell phone provider now?"
"Did you stop anywhere along the way home before the accident?"
"Did your mom send you on any errands prior to the accident?"

You get the gist...our lawyer finally stopped the questioning after 2 hours as it was obvious they had nothing to do with the case against us. The lawyer seemed to think that it would not go to trial and that they would eventually settle. He told Ryan not to worry...easier said than done!

We are still in the proccess of buying our home. And goodness is it a proccess! We were supposed to close today...obviously that didn't happen. I call the bank at least once a day and have only received a handful of returned calls since April! Our paperwork is all in and has been in for a long time but the bank keeps 'misplacing' our documents. It is so ridiculous! I know it will all be worth it when we are in our home, but right now I am beyond frustrated. Our closing date was moved to the 18th...this is the 3rd time it's been pushed back due to 'lost' paperwork (We were originally supposed to close June 30). I'll be glad when this is all overwith.

Lily is one busy baby. She started creeping/crawling in May and is now a champion crawler. She pulls up on everything and still puts everything in her mouth. She says 'mama', 'dada', 'at' (cat), 'dag' (dog) and 'woof' (any animal). She loves to sing...any music must be sung to...even commericals! She is into everything and I mean EVERYTHING. You have to have eyes on her at all times because you never know what she will do or get into next.

We are begining the awful process of finding a daycare for her for this fall. It terrifies me. Other that 3 times in the nursery at church I have never left her with someone not in my family. Just the thought of trusting someone else to care for my baby is terrifying. Affording it is also not a fun thought...almost $1000 a month!!! I don't even make that much!

So...that is what is going on with us. Nothing exciting but still busy and rather stressful. I am so glad I did not take any classes this summer- I don't know if I would have made it!
