Exhausted

"I don't think New York likes us..."

That's what Ryan said.

It's been a roughg 2 weeks. Not bad, but rough. We moved to Rochester on the 10th. Left everything we had built and came here.

I honestly never knew what was involved in moving. How much money is involved in moving.

Rent and deposit 1,500
Registering Vehicles 300
Gasoline 200
Uhaul trailer 200
Vehicle Inspections 60

and the list goes on...

or how much time...

DMV
Change of address
New bank accounts
Setting up electric, gas, phone, cable, internet
Moving in
Unpacking
Grocery shopping
Gathering forms for new job

and this list goes on...

and just the adjustment...

marriage
new jobs
new home
new city
new state
new friends...hopefully

So this is all why I am exhausted. We are happy- mostly. It's just weird living in Rochester- the place I grew up- and having no connection other than my family. No friends, no favorite places, no places to go and just relax, no idea where anything is...

I took for granted how great it was to just call up a friend and go and hang with them for an afternoon. I already miss those I was/am close to in Toledo. It would be so nice to just spend one evening with someone familiar...

I feel a bit lost here...Perhaps I was missed when I first moved to Rochester...but by the time I left I was so sick that I had lost most of my friends...and now with 3 years having passed many people have moved on- and I'm not very good at just randomly calling someone...

As far as the "I don't think New York likes us comment"... Most of what has gone wrong has been our fault- we've done dumb things- but when you add it all on top of each other it's a lot to hande. We accidently left chicken in our trash when we left to go camping with my family- and in 90 degree weather it didn't fare so well- we got home yeserday and noticed that someone had placed an airfreshener in the hallway and as we climbed the stairs to our apartment we noticed a very unpleasant odor and of course we then realized that it was coming from our apartment- the chicken had liquidated in our trash and attracted flies which died- due to the heat- and fell all over the floor, couch, window sills, etc. You couldn't walk without stepping on a fly. The mixture of the flies and the odor nearly brought me to tears. Things like this seem to be happening all week and there is no one to blame but ourselves. Then today I accidently mailed my paycheck instead of depositing it in my checking account (it got mixed in with my bills) . I dunno, it's just frustrating.

Camping with the family was fun though. It was quite hot but the lake was nice adnd refreshing. We went fishing and I caught 3-4 fish. It was so nice. A break from the craziness of our lives.

I'll post some pictures...
